Birney's Bio

Back in the day : Birney (Not 'Ben', because that name was already taken) wrote the music for Mantra and Space Gypsy, and did all the design, programming and mapping for Mantra II. (Mantra II was, shall we say, the lesser of the two titles in the franchise.) Always the 'junior member' of the Cult, Birney never felt he was quite up to the standards of the other five members - but still loved to play with them. (Is he an upperclassman yet?)

Now : Birney is a composer, working on a musical adaptation of John Milton's Paradise Lost. He also works with Niaterra Arts and Entertainment, a startup production company based out of Chicago.

"New" files

You'll notice that all of the classic Syzygy Cult applications are available for download. The use of the "New" icon for these downloads seems particularly ironic.

We still exist

We, the Syzygy Cult, are not dead. We just all have real jobs now. Some of us are even married. Who would have figured?
