Do you love music, especially the way DJ’s make people groove in discos and music festivals? If yes, then you can certainly do a lot with a program called Virtual DJ. It is a wonderful tool to learn how to DJ with MP3 and other music files. Yes, you need a little bit of learning as you cannot become an expert DJ overnight. To start your practice, you will be required to import your music library. You will find an icon called music tree inside Virtual DJ software. Right click on this icon and import all your music files and place them inside this folder. After importing your library, drag songs one by one into the deck to let the program analyze beats per minute of the songs.
How to start your practice with Virtual DJ software
Now choose two songs having similar BPM and place them into decks A and B. Once you press Space, you will find that Deck A starts to play. Press on Tab to play a deck. There is cross fader in the centre of the program that you can slide left to the right to make your song fade out. Slide it to the right and your song starts to play again. When you keep it in the centre, you can hear both deck A and Deck B songs. You will need to practice how to drag this slider using your mouse to create sound effects.
You can download Virtual DJ home edition to start practicing with it. With a little bit of practice, you will learn how and when to bring in a new song into play to keep the momentum going. Try different combinations of songs and you will slowly learn how to set two songs together to make your audiences groove to your music.
